• Officer James Cox

    Officer Cox joined the department in December 2012, is a recent graduate of the Police Officer Standards and Training Council Connecticut Police Academy and is now continuing his training under the guidance of a Field Training Officer in our community.
    Officer Cox graduated from Hamden High School in 2003. While attending high school Cox played football, basketball and baseball. Officer Cox also was a CCD teacher to 3rd and 4th grade students of Blessed Sacrament Church.
    Prior to becoming a Branford Officer, Cox excelled in the fitness industry for the past 7 years in both personal training and business management of multiple facilities. Cox was given the opportunity to fulfill his passion for law enforcement when hired by BPD in December 2012.
    Cox resides in Hamden with his supportive wife and two dogs and enjoys spending his free time with them. Cox says he is eager to become a productive part of this department and is looking forward to a rewarding career.
