• Officer Nicholas Torino

    Officer Nicholas Torino, a resident of East Haven, graduated East Haven High School in 2007, where he played both varsity Hockey and Golf.
    After high school, Officer Torino attended and later graduated from Gateway Community College in 2010 with an Associates Degree in General Studies.

    Prior to becoming a police officer, Officer Torino worked as a Telecommunicator in Branford’s
    E-911 Communications Center. Torino is a volunteer Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician for the East Haven FD Company 6, where he served as First Lieutenant and as a volunteer member of Branford FD Company 4.
    Torino also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for American Medical Response in New Haven.

    Along with Officers Cox and Carangelo, Torino began his training as a police officer in the CT Police Academy on January 4, 2013, graduating with his brother officers on June 24, 2013.

    Officer Torino said he couldn’t be happier with his career in public service, following my father Bill Torino (retired East Haven Career Firefighter/EMT), his cousin Mike Torino (East Haven Firefighter/Paramedic), and cousin Mike Sorbo (retired East Haven Police Officer). Officer Torino said that his career choices have been based on his passion to help the public.
